Create New TimeBox

We will guide you step by step in creating a TimeBox.

Special Attention: Once the TimeBox is successfully minted, all content and settings cannot be changed.

Preparation

Go to the TimeBox homepage, connect your wallet, and choose the blockchain network you use most often. (See the blockchains we support here)

If you are prompted to log in, you just need to sign in. Don't worry, this is a standard Ethereum login and poses no threat.

First Time Using TimeBox.

If it's your first time using TimeBox, you need to first claim some Time Tokens for free.

Click on the menu: HOW TO PLAY -> Claim $Time

Note that if you have claimed before, you cannot claim again, regardless of which blockchain network you are on.

We are currently in a public beta phase and soon you will be able to purchase Time Tokens on decentralized exchanges.

Now let's start minting a TimeBox.

  1. Click on the menu: HOW TO PLAY -> Create TimeBox.

  2. Choose the type of TimeBox.

  • Private: You will create a private TimeBox, which can only be opened by its owner. No one else has the right to open it.

  • Public: You will create a public TimeBox. If it is unlocked, anyone can access its contents.

Note: This choice is very important. If you choose a "Public TimeBox", do not store any private content, as it will be visible to everyone.

  1. Set the time you want to lock it for.

You can choose to lock it for one year, five years, or set a custom unlock time. Of course, you can also choose not to lock it. We recommend creating a TimeBox with a set lock period.

  1. Label your TimeBox. Enter a label in the Label input box so you won't forget what's inside the TimeBox.

Note:The label content is not encrypted and will be visible to everyone.

  1. Now, you can record any content you want. Enter content in the Content input box and this content will be fully encrypted.

  2. Why not add some files?

You can store some photos, videos, or files. There are some limitations on file types and total attachment size, which you can find on the page. The file type restrictions are different for public and private TimeBoxes. The larger the files you put in, the higher the minting cost will be. You will see the minting cost in the next step.

  1. Here, the estimated minting cost will be displayed. Your expenses will be settled using Time Tokens, so make sure your wallet has a sufficient balance.

  2. Wait for processing. If all goes well, an interaction window will pop up in your wallet. You need to complete the next steps in your wallet. When your wallet indicates that the transaction is successful, congratulations, your TimeBox has been successfully minted.

If you can't see the TimeBox you just minted right away, don't worry, just wait for the server to finish processing.
